Upside Down

In Hawkins, Indiana, the lights have always flickered a little, and nobody thinks much of it. Underneath the town lies a copy of it, cold and dark and turned the wrong way up, and in that place something has been waiting a long time for someone to notice.

Vecna does not break down doors. He finds the people who are tired, or scared, or alone, and he reaches in. One group goes quiet, then another. The ones still free hold on to each other, to music, to anything that might pull them back, and for a while some of it works.

By the time the last of Hawkins understands what is happening, the whole town is moving to a single tune, and every string leads to the same hand. Whether anyone cuts them is the part you had to be there for.
